Yarra Ranges LIFE TV is Coming

An exciting new Community focused YouTube channel is coming our way – Yarra Ranges LIFE TV!  Launching late February/early March, YRLife.tv aims to inform and entertain viewers, sharing interesting local stories, as well as a weekly local news, sport and weather bulletin.

Executive Producer – Pat Boucher – has lived for over 35 years in the Yarra Ranges, and loves the area so much, he wanted to capture and shared some of the amazing stories in our own backyard.

“I love the people, the places, the history, the nature, the community!!  I could go on and on… there’s so much to talk about and so much to share.  I’ve lived here for nearly all my life and I’m still discovering hidden little secrets and magical spots.”

Over the past 6 months a small team of dedicated volunteers have been in production, establishing networks, and sourcing sponsorship and funding, to get Yarra Ranges LIFE TV off the ground.

“We’re aiming to produce a 4-6 week Pilot Series, and this would be a full time commitment for our team.  It would also generate the equivalent of 2.5 full time jobs – which we hope to be able to increase over the coming months.”

Already the team has interviewed a range of locals: from Federal and State Politico’s, to local Councillors, as well as world renowned local heroes and quiet achievers.  Also, stories about issues such as the wild rabbit problem and homelessness are already in production too.

“I’m really looking forward to our Vox-Pop Pop-Up segment, where we get to meet the residents out and about, and hear what they think of life in the Yarra Ranges.  As well as, promoting the volunteers in our community, those helping the clubs and organisations, sitting on committees, preparing community events.  It’s amazing how much volunteer time goes into our community, to make it the great place that it is today.”

You can already get a taste of what’s coming, with over 15 stories and sneak previews on their YouTube channel.
